Avocado Lemonade Smoothie

Avocados contribute a thickness that really puts a spin on something as simple as lemonade! Not only do they add a cool and interesting texture, they also add a variety of very beneficial nutrients! The are known for being high in fat, but they are really power packed with several other nutrients! Please, don’t let the high fat content scare you away. I suggest eating at least 1 avocado, several days a week.

Making lemonade with avocado gives you the benefit of its very high content of vitamin B5 and B6, folate, and potassium. These are all nutrients that many people don’t get enough of. Compared to other fruits or vegetables, it is high in vitamin E, and it’s also a good source of fiber. All of this turns a favorite refreshing drink into a delicious and super creamy powerhouse!

Ingredients:

  • 1 whole avocado
  • 1/2 cup cold water
  • 1/2 cup ice
  • 1 large lemon (juiced)
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup (or more, if desired)
  • pinch of ginger powder (optional)

Instructions:
Add all ingredients to blender. Blend well. Enjoy!
