Salad Sauce? Yes!
This isn’t like a traditional salad dressing, but it has tons of flavor and a wonderful creaminess that will make you a salad sauce lover!
Why salad sauce? Because we can have all of yum of a traditional dressing without the oils that are typically polyunsaturated and highly refined.
Sure, extra virgin olive oil is a great option, but it can often overpower the dressing. Olive oil flavor is good for many things, but not for my mustard dressing.
Give the sauce a try, and let us know how you like it:
Ingredients
- 2/3 cup sour cream (preferably organic or with only 2-3 ingredients. No gums added)
- 1/2 cup of basic yellow mustard (not powder)
- 4 or 5 tbsp maple syrup (depends on how sweet you want it)
- 1/2 tsp red wine vinegar
- 1/4 tsp unrefined salt (Himalayan, Celtic…)
- 1/4 tsp garlic powder
- 1/8 tsp black pepper (or a big pinch)
In a medium sized bowl, mix all ingredients together. Serve. Chill the remainder for up to 5 days
Enjoy!
